Programme Overview
Description
Inspired by the breathtaking beauty and harshness of the arctic wilderness come 70 short nature films produced by the award-winning team at Scandinavia’s most successful natural history production company.
Each of the 70 shorts offers a different, tantalizing glimpse at the many stunning landscapes that make up Lapland’s great wilderness and the multitude of creatures that inhabit them. From its unpopulated forests to its crystal-clear springs and expansive lakes - where animals float and swim, enormous flocks of migrating birds fledge their offspring, and fish swim upstream to spawn - these shorts give viewers unparalleled access to this breathtaking wilderness.
In addition to showing arctic creatures such as reindeer, foxes, weasels, jays, owls, and salmon, these films often reference the beliefs and stories associated with them, while also celebrating the mythical landscapes of Lapland’s arctic wilderness.
Cutting-edge technology allows the wealth of plant and animal species to be closely observed for extended periods, while also giving viewers unprecedented access to secretive habitats and rarely seen behaviors.
Featuring scenes and scenarios filmed for Matila Rohr’s critically acclaimed trilogy of feature documentaries, buyers can choose from three curated collections entitled Nordic Woodland Wildlife (20x5’ from Tale of a Forest), Finnish Lake Wildlife (30x5’ from Tale of a Lake) and Arctic Wildlife Shorts (20x5’ from Tale of the Sleeping Giants).
These stunning vignettes are also available to license as a complete package of 70 shorts, or as individual films as desired.
