Snap orders more DEAD GIRLS DETECTIVE AGENCY from Keshet Studios

Keshet StudiosThe Dead Girl’s Detective Agency has escaped purgatory: Snapchat, the global platform with 180M active users, has ordered an additional 20 episodes of this darkly comedic short-form teenage drama.

The initial 15 episode run is constantly touted as the platform’s most successful scripted series. Erin Keating, Snap’s Senior Development Manager at Snap Originals says, “We’ve seen incredible engagement. Fourteen million watched the first season, and 40% of first episode watchers completed the first season. These are early stats but it’s very promising in terms of what’s in store.”

Based on the young adult novels by Suzy Cox of the same name, this Snapchat series hails from writing duo Molly Margraf and Jerica Lieberman, and is produced by Indigo Development and Entertainment Arts, Insurrection Media, and Keshet Studios.

The Dead Girls Detective Agency is this darkly comedic supernatural teenage soap mystery that follows Charlotte Feldman, a young woman who must work from beyond to figure out how and why she died in order to avoid an eternity in purgatory.

The series is also gaining critical success. The three main female leads, Gia Mantegna, Aparna Brielle, and Vanessa Marano, are jointly Webby nominated for Best Individual Performance, alongside James Corden’s digital series.
