Keshet International’s Tresor TV to produce CJ ENM’s primetime comedy singing show for RTL Germany

CJ ENM’s hit music mystery show I Can See Your Voice is now freshly adding Germany to their track record. The music show is celebrating its 6th anniversary with more than 11 local adaptations, with over 700 episodes produced globally. 

In Germany, I Can See Your Voice has been commissioned by RTL, and will be locally produced by Tresor TV, part of global content producer and distributor Keshet International. This order, which goes into production shortly for broadcast later this summer, follows recent news of CJ ENM’s and Tresor TV’s first-look deal for both non-scripted and scripted formats (5 June 2020).

Who is a true singing talent and who has a really horrible voice? In I Can See Your Voice, a musical mega-star and his super-fan are confronted with seven unknowns on stage: who is a talented singer and who is an uninhibited swindler without any singing ability? Can they tell the difference, without ever hearing them sing a note? A panel of five celebrities help the star and his fan navigate through rounds of lip sync challenges, hilarious hidden clues and true-or-false evidence as the fakers try to bluff their way to the final round. Every round the star and his super-fan have to say good-bye to one of the candidates. And every elimination offers a dramatic reveal, as the rejected singers take to the ‘Stage of Truth’ to showcase their true voice: tone-deaf caterwauling or harmonious vocalisation?  This hilarious show culminates with the last remaining candidate performing a duet with the musical superstar, resulting in either an amazing musical collaboration or a hilarious train wreck. If the super-fan and their superstar select a talented signer, they win a cash prize; if the duo falls for a bluffer without a voice, the con artist who deceived everyone wins the prize.

I Can See Your Voice is a South Korean show format that first aired in February 2015. Since the premiere, it has widely received acclaim with an International Emmy nomination for ‘Best Non-scripted Entertainment Program,’ and increasing interest for local adaptations. It has been successfully broadcast in Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Bulgaria, Indonesia, the Philippines, Cambodia and China. Most recently, it has been commissioned by FOX in the US to be on air later on this year, along with one in Romania.
