KI inks first in-flight deal with Contentino Media in Asia

KESHET INTERNATIONAL INKS FIRST IN-FLIGHT DEAL WITH SHEMAROO’S CONTENTINO MEDIA IN ASIA AND THE MIDDLE EAST

Global content and media producer and distributor Keshet International (KI) today announces it has signed an in-flight deal with Contentino Media, a subsidiary of Shemaroo Entertainment, as it continues its expansion in the Asian market.

Brokered by Keshet India, this distribution deal will see Contentino Media exclusively represent KI’s finished tape catalogue to its client-base of more than 50 airlines operating across the Asian and Middle Eastern regions, including Singapore Airlines, Qatar Airways, Emirates and Jet Airways.

It will see Keshet International’s flagship shows, such as NBC’s military drama The Brave; BBC One’s family drama The A Word; international hit drama Prisoners of War; be offered to millions of airline passengers for the first time.

Gary Pudney, Head of Asia, Keshet International, says: “This deal with Contentino Media demonstrates our strategic approach to audience building. The Asia Pacific market is predicted to be the fastest growing region for global in-flight entertainment, and we hope this deal leads to other opportunities elsewhere.”

Kranti Gada, Chief Operating Officer, Shemaroo Entertainment Limited says, “With this partnership with Keshet International, we are excited to broaden our offering and add premium international content to further strengthen our content library in this space. What is exciting is that we will now offer customers hundreds of hours of international programming to enjoy during their travels, which will include critically acclaimed shows like Brave and top rated European show Holloway Prison – Women Behind Bars. Our foundation in content will help us cross sell our propositions to all airlines.”

Currently the fourth largest distributor in Asia, Keshet International and many of its shows already have a strong resonance in the Asian market, with a number of its hit formats and premium dramas enjoying success across the region on linear TV channels. Rising Star – the fastest selling talent show on record with over 200M votes cast globally to date – has already run to two series in India on Colors TV, where the Optimystix Entertainment produced show is the second most watched non-fiction show of 2018, and two series in Indonesia. Gripping espionage thriller False Flag was picked up by FNG and broadcast in 127 countries globally, while Prisoners of War, upon which the prime time Emmy® winner Homeland was based, has sold in over 65 territories to date and spawned Star TV India’s local adaptation in India (110 episodes across two series). Its children’s singing format MASTER CLASS has run to three series to date in China, where the first series of 3C Media produced show became the 6thmost popular show in 2015 and online episodes amassed over a billion views, and has been remade for audiences in Vietnam on HTV3.
