Keshet 12 to host the Great Israeli Seder - Live and free to the world

KESHET 12’S NEW LINE-UP TO INCLUDE LIVE AND FREE PASSOVER SPECIAL TO BE BROADCAST WORLDWIDE

The upcoming Seder eve will be first of its kind and different from any known before as millions of families in Israel and around the world celebrate the Seder under the current quarantine instructions.

In light of the situation, this Passover Eve Keshet 12 – Israel’s most watched TV channel - will broadcast The Great Israeli Seder live, leaving no one alone. Keshet Media Group also invites viewers from all around the world to come together as one and celebrate on this special evening via mako.co.il, where the show will also be made available to watch for free.

Led by Haim Etgar and Corin Gideon, this landmark Passover Seder will be attended by famous actors, singers, intellectuals, entertainers, celebrities and families from all over Israel.

Some of the participants will sit at the main table, others in their homes and some at broadcast centers around the country and elsewhere in the world.

Well-known faces taking part live in Keshet 12’s The Great Israeli Seder will include:

·      Politicians - President of Israel Reuven Rivlin, Avigdor Lieberman and Yair Lapid;

·      Comedians - Rotem Abuhav, Shayke Levi and Hanoch Daum;

·      Journalists and TV personalities - Ilana Dayan, Ofira Asayag, Amnon Abramovich, Erez Tal, Danny Kushmaro, Yaron London, Dan Ariely, Haim Hecht and Guy Pines;

·      Singers and actors - Rita, Ninet Tayeb, Shiri Maimon, Aki Avni, Nicol Raidman, and Lior Ashkenazi;

·      Athletes - Yuval Shemla;

·      Chefs - Haim Cohen, and many more.

Guests will celebrate the holiday properly around the table, reading together from the Haggadah, singing the traditional holiday songs, eating the holiday meal, sharing their holiday customs and personal experiences of the current situations.

Viewers at home will be invited to join the holiday table through photos and videos from their own Seder table, shared via the mako website.

During this difficult time, Keshet is committed to delivering original, innovative broadcast initiatives to give the public rolling news updates and balanced current affairs, alongside relevant entertainment slates and new ventures – including a collaboration with the Zappa Group to support musical artists, a daily cooking show, comedy specials with Israeli favourites like Adir Miller - to offer relief.

Keshet / Zappa Group collaboration to support musical talent (3-5 LIVE shows a day)

·      Keshet 12 is leading the ratings with a “first of its kind” television venture - live performances of Israel’s biggest music artists directly to viewers isolated at home.

·      It’s a unique collaboration between Keshet and the Zappa Group - the leading group in music and culture scene in Israel

·      Three to five exclusive shows aired live during each day on Keshet's websites, mako and N12, with one selected performance aired live on Keshet 12 at midnight daily

·      Artists featured so far include: Hanan Ben Ari, Keren Peles, Shlomi Shabat, Itay Levi. Sarot Hadad, Miri Mesika and more.

·      Other artists expected to take part: Eurovision winner Netta Barzilai, Eviatar Banai, Assaf Amdursky, Aviv Geffen and more.

 

Cooking Together (LIVE daily cooking show)

·      It's a new LIVE broadcast daily show (12:00 PM), airing right from the chef's own home kitchen.

·      Every morning the recipe of the current episode is published on mako and on Keshet's morning show

·      The recipes are easy on purpose, so that the viewers at home would be able to cook this lunch dish with basic ingredients that are common in Israeli household.

·      While the chef is making the dish, a co-host joins him on a split screen and asks him questions sent by the viewers.

·      Every episode is hosted by one of Israel's top celebrity chefs: Haim Cohen, Israel Aharoni, Eyal Shani, Avi Bitton and Michal Ansky.

Since coronavirus hit, Keshet 12 has seen a 63% increase in share in primetime with daytime time slots increasing by 20-50% increase. During primetime, episodes of original shows like Uvda and What A Wonderful Country have been split and now broadcast twice a week, generating 31.9% share on average. Married at First Sight continues to perform strongly, with a new post-COVID19-produced comedy special with Adir Miller (of Miller's Crossing and Traffic Light-fame) achieved a staggering 41.3% share.
