Description
The Search is a brilliantly simple and thrillingly addictive game show that transforms the universally familiar word search puzzle into a full-scale, high-energy television event. This studio-based competition challenges pairs of contestants to combine trivia knowledge, lightning-fast thinking, and physical teamwork as they navigate a stunning, life-sized LED letter grid. Big-screen visuals capture every moment, making The Search as engaging for audiences at home as it is for those in the studio.
In the children's version produced for VRT's Ketnet channel, the Lettersoep (Alphabet Soup) studio set is more colorful and intimate, versus the original, with a multi-hued 64-square interactive LED grid. Each 15-minute episode has an educational flavor, with themes that complement the educational values of the commissioning channel.
New format points include the fun addition of players jumping in the air with their arms up and shouting "Lettersoep!" when they've found a word; a new music round, featuring songs with missing ("slurped") lyrics for the kids to find on the board against the clock; and a viewing pane so that viewers at home can see which words the players are seeking, and play along too.
