Programme Overview
Description
In this heart-warming new format, a celebrity bachelor/bachelorette has a first date, though it's not in a restaurant. Instead, they prepare dinner in their own home for their date – and their closest friends and family. But there isn’t only one special dinner date – there are two. Both will try their best to impress the celebrity and their family. The next day, only one will be chosen for a second date.
Family Dinner Date takes us beyond our preconceptions of what “celebrity” means, painting an authentic portrait of familiar faces and revealing what really matters to them. The dates are not blind dates: the celebrity chooses two dates from a selection, just like using a dating app.
This format is shot in a warm, sympathetic way, more like a rom-com than a documentary or reality show. Viewers will love seeing another side of their favorite celebrities and rating the dates. The dinners are a realistic, warm portrayal of actual family life, and the celebrity’s relationships with those that matter most to them.
Building a relationship, especially post-divorce, isn’t easy. But knowing that a potential partner has the approval of your closest friends and family… well, that at least gives it a head start.
