Programme Overview

Description

When Suzy calls into DJ Lara’s late-night phone-in, threatening to commit suicide on live radio, Lara spots an opportunity to make the controversial kind of show she loves so much again. But Suzy isn’t all she seems: as the night unfolds, Suzy plays a dangerous game of cat and mouse that forces Lara to examine her own conscience and her attitude towards relationships.

Suzy believes that Lara took something from her, and now she’s determined to take something from Lara – something she values above all else. Lara is faced with some tough choices – and it’s more than her job that’s at stake.

Storm Lara is a real-time drama that takes place during the two hours of Lara’s graveyard slot. It takes the psychological drama format into a new realm, intertwining the idea of reputation - as magnified by social media - with more traditional concepts of love and jealousy. As the final half hour of the show plays out, we can only hear what is occurring – and, like the protagonists, hope for a peaceful conclusion.
