Programme Overview

Description

We all have highs and lows in relationships. Whether with our parents, spouses, friends or children, we find that sometimes opening up is harder than we realized, and we need some help.

Enter Marijuana!

High Society: The Cannabis Café is a factual entertainment format which takes place at a contemporary Dutch coffee shop and fills it with fascinating people and stories and cannabis fumes to offer an extraordinary window into the human condition.

Every visitor will have a clear and heartfelt motivation for trying the high, whether they’re looking for a peaceful way to settle a dispute, hoping to take the sting out of a surprising revelation or simply looking to strengthen an existing bond.

From parents aiming to better the relationship with their daughter in 24 hours than twenty-four years, young couples struggling with intimacy, best friends with something to get off their chests, retired cops open to a relaxing of the current drug policy, to a group of 60-something friends wanting to tick the adventure off their bucket list and a MS sufferer keen to see if the drug will ease her pain, the range of visitors is a fascinating cross section of human society.

The show will test and see if marijuana can stimulate social interactions as people of all walks of life and backgrounds are invited to take drugs together on camera for the first time. What will happen?

High Society: The Cannabis Café portrays tender moments as fragile relationships are repaired and personal connections are strengthened. On High Society: The Cannabis Café we get to eavesdrop on fascinating debates, intimate confessions and musings of creative minds alongside lots of giggles and profound statements, captured in intimate detail.
