Programme Overview
Description
Blending relatable real-life situations with sharp humor and poignant moments, Happy at Sea is a character-driven comedy drama that amplifies and plays on the complex relationships between multiple generations as they live together over one summer.
Happy at Sea is about those days when you gather your family and head off to spend some real quality time with your closest relations. Featuring all the laughter and togetherness, but also the inevitable pain and aggravation when three generations live under the same roof for a long period of time.
Centering on the Kling family and their private paradise among the rocks and cliffs of Stockholm’s archipelago, season one begins with the first summer after the death of Maud, the matriarch of the family. Klara and Thomas decide to spend the whole season at the house to support their dad. How will three generations manage together for five weeks?
In season two, nothing is as it always used to be out on the summer island – to the delight of some and dismay of others. Since last summer, Klara and her husband Rille have gone through a bit of a rough patch and started couple’s therapy, while head-of-the-house Berndt and his girlfriend Söderberg’s relationship has grown more serious.
Season Three is coming soon.
