Stand Up & Drive

Offering a brand new take on the “on-the-road” talk show genre, a top comedian drives a fellow stand-up performer to his or her next on-stage gig, revealing a genuine – and often hilarious – glimpse along the way into the life, work and humour of our best-loved comics.

Stand Up & Drive follows the comedians on the move together over the course of one day. Each episode starts as the “host” – a leading comedy performer in their country – picks up that week’s guest comedian. Together they head to the guest’s next stand-up performance. As they travel to the venue, their challenge is to jointly devise and write a new stand-up routine, which the guest comedian will try out for the first time that very same night, in front of their audience.

While they work out their new act, their journey offers viewers an up-close and personal perspective of the comedians lives, as they talk about their work, reveal what inspires them, and how they shift from their off-stage, regular lives to entertaining a new audience every night, up and down the country. After the performance the comedians will reunite over a drink or a meal – but how did the new routine go down? Will they be drowning their sorrows or celebrating their comic genius?

Each episode delivers a mini comedy road-trip, as audiences get an authentic insight into the lives of their favorite performers – discovering the real person behind their on-stage persona and, of course, enjoying plenty of fun and laughs on the journey.
