Programme Overview
Description
Ever knocked on a complete stranger's door and asked to take a shower? Eaten something out of a wheelie bin? Or held a swimming contest in a public fountain? If the answer’s no, you probably haven’t played Simon. This crazy underground street game has become an even wackier TV show.
Two teams of four players arrive at a meeting point at night, leaving their inhibitions and dignity at the door. Issued with a list of twenty bizarre, outrageous and extreme tasks, they aim to complete as many of them as possible before daybreak to win points which will take them through to the next round. With the points available for every challenge awarded according to difficulty, they must do whatever it takes to complete them, which often involves convincing complete strangers to join in.
Aided by his two quirky sidekicks, Simon is the twisted mastermind who controls the game from his makeshift headquarters, orchestrating a night of pure insanity. Monitoring the teams’ progress in real time, he responds to their gameplay and springs surprising random requests on them such as: “Eat a tablespoon of wasabi in twenty seconds” or “Lick a passerby’s bald head” – all for bonus points. Throughout the night he also calls the teams together at will to compete head to head. When the game ends at dawn, Simon announces the winners who will advance to the final to play for a prize.
