Programme Overview
Description
Master Class is a musical talent show where children sing all-time classics with only positive reviews and no eliminations. Sixteen children (age eight to 14) with the most promising voices in the country are taught by four teachers – leading artists in the music industry – who train them to make the most of their potential.
The program is set at a music school and its auditorium, where weekly performances take place. The format creates a sense of wonder as viewers are charmed by the innocence and bravery of the children and intrigued by what they could become. There is no ruthlessness, desperation or despair in Master Class – only the excitement and delight of seeing brilliant, fresh young talents giving new interpretations to classics.
Attracting a family audience, Master Class is celebrated by critics for its warmth and “feel-good” factor. Master Class became a breakthrough hit on Israeli television, attracting a 48% average audience share and becoming the highest-rated talent show in the country in the years it aired.
To date, this highly successful format has been produced locally in six territories, including Slovenia (Planet TV), Uruguay (Teledoce), Hungary (TV2), Greece (Mega), China (BTV) and Georgia (Rustavi). In Hungary, where a local version ran for three seasons, Master Class regularly ranked as the most-watched show of the week, peaking with a 30% average share (+88% on the channel average).
In addition to Uruguay, three seasons have also aired so far in China, where the highly acclaimed series was ranked as one of the most watched shows in the country. The show's social media following was also constantly growing, making it the most engaged TV show on social media platform Weibo.
