The A Word is Keshet International’s hit drama focusing on a family’s painful, and often humorous, journey of denial and introspection, after their 5-year-old son is diagnosed with autism. Season one became the tenth most watched drama series ever to run on Israeli TV.
Season two begins five years after the first ended. Omri is already nine years old, and Yaniv and Ayelet are living their lives with the realization that their son’s autism is here to stay. Omri attends the regular local school, with a private tutor accompanying him at all times, while Yaniv opens up a dreamy little restaurant on the edge of a desert cliff. The season revolves around the couple’s new dilemma: whether to try for another child.
Commissioned in the UK by BBC One, the six part drama series is co-produced by Fifty Fathoms Productions, Tiger Aspect Productions and Keshet UK. The A Word is based on Keren Margalit’s award-winning Israeli drama and will bring the show to a wider English language audience.
