Every day is a fashion show and the world is the runway - Coco Chanel
Every year the Israeli fashion company Honey sets out to shoot a sexy and provocative catalogue in a different exotic location. When Honey’s advertising agency suggests the concept of going somewhere they have never been before, the CEO endorses the idea and says “As long as there are locals in the catalogue”. The chosen destination for 2010 is Ebono Kilosa, a fictional republic in central Africa that has survived several civil wars and the ravages of poverty and famine. Will this small country make it through five days with the chaotic fashion crew, who would do anything to return home with their catalogue as soon as humanly possible?
Honey’s biggest assets: Yaniv Meitar and Zlil RomMeitar, the “faces” of Honey and a newlywed couple, set off to Africa along with photographer Assi and hair and makeup duo – Michael and Alon. Throughout the five day shoot they lose one of the team, experience life-threatening situations, break up, fall in love, and in between take a few photos… They discover that Africa is nothing like what they saw in the mockups. Surprisingly,
they will also meet Aaron Wexler, the CEO’s overweight son, who has lost 130 pounds and come to conquer the modeling world – as well as winning Zlil’s heart. In this satirical comedy which pokes fun at the noveau riche, we discover just how funny ignorance can be.
