TWO REMARKABLE ACHIEVEMENTS FOR KESHET INTERNATIONAL'S HIT TALENT SHOW MASTER CLASS

The local version of Master Class debuted on TV2 Hungary –reaching 32.3% share, making it the most watched program on TV2 in 2013 The second season of Master Class Israel ended on a high note as the highest-rated musical talent show in Israel in 2013, with an average share of 48%

Master Class Hungary, locally titled Az Ének Iskolája (School of Music), debuted on TV2’s primetime from 19:15-20:45, was the slotwinner on Saturday with a 32.3% share in the 18-49 target group. The show outperformed the average timeslot, normally 12.9%, by 250%. The show acheived 1.5 million average viewers, and reached 2.6 million people .
 

TV2 was the market leader channel in Hungary during Master Class, the market share of the show was higher than its biggest competitors in Hungary altogether (RTL Klub + m1 + Cool + Viasat3 + Film+ : 30,2%). The viewership was high mostly among women (18-49) and family viewers (18-49 with 0-14 year old children).  In these target groups the show reached about 36% market share.
 

“Master Class is a show from the heart. When Keshet presented the idea last year I immediately jumped on it. I didn’t consider targetgroups, scheduling, I just made my decision from my heart. You have to believe in your intuition in programing, that is the lesson I learned again!” said Peter Kiss, director of programing at tv2 .
 

The last episode of Keshet International’s hit musical talent show, Master Class, aired on March 19th at 21:00 on Keshet Channel 2. The episode scored a 52.4% share and 34.8% rating. Throughout the season, 80% of the national population was exposed to the show, which garnered a 48% average market share and 33.7% rating (HH) across a 12-episode season. Master Class’s viewership topped that of The Voice, which aired during the same weeks.
 

The average rating of the second season was 20% above the channel’s average for the same time-slot and period. Viewership was high across the board, especially among the female audience, with the main audience in the 45+ age group.
 

Season one of Master Class, which aired in late 2011, captured a similar average market share of 48% and a 35.2% rating, and was the second highest rated series of the year. 
 

Master Class is a musical talent shows in which children sing all-time classics with only positive reviews and no eliminations. Sixteen children (aged 8-14) with the most promising voices in the country are taught by four teachers – leading artists in the music industry – who train them to live up to their potential. The program is set in the auditorium of the music school, where weekly performances take place.
 

Keshet International’s format has been sold to multiple territories around the world, with the most recent deals signed to create local versions in China and France.
