SEASON PREMIERE BREAKS RECORDS TO BECOME ISRAEL’S 

HIGHEST RATED SCRIPTED SERIES LAUNCH OF 2017

The impossible love story between a simple baker and an international superstar

Last night saw the premiere of series two of hit drama The Baker and the Beauty on Keshet Broadcasting’s Channel 2. The premiere is the highest rating launch of a scripted series in Israel this year, attracting 582,000 viewers.

Episode one and two of the new series aired back to back on  Channel 2 and saw an increase of 10% in viewers compared to the series one premiere These figures are expected to increase significantly with the consolidated ratings and  delayed online viewing on Keshet’s online platform, Mako.

Series one of The Baker and The Beauty was a ratings success. It was the most viewed first season of a scripted series in Israel and received the second highest viewership ever sampled for an Israeli comedy/drama series.

The series has been remade successfully in Greece and the Netherlands – where it performed very strongly, enjoying a viewing share 43.48% higher than its slot average. The series also premiered on Channel 4 in the UK as its first Hebrew language TV drama and was  made available on the channel’s VoD service Walter Presents.

CRITICAL ACCLAIM, STRONG RATINGS AND CHART TOPPING

STREAING PREFORMANCE FOR NORDIC NOIR FALLET

Nordic Noir meets British murder mystery. Breaking new ground in the continuing success story of Scandi-crime

 

Series one of Nordic Noir dramedy FALLET debuted on Swedish public service broadcaster SVT1 last month.

The critically acclaimed show from award-winning producer FLX  opened with 458,000 viewers on linear TV – even more impressive given that the show aired at the same time as TV4’s biggest entertainment show Strictly Come Dancing (Lets Dance).

On SVT Play, the broadcaster’s streaming catch-up service, FALLET  was among the highest rated programmes of the weekend and on the day of launch was the third highest rated show on the service.

The series has continued to progress well and has performed stronger than SVT’s hit comedy VÅRDGÅRDEN, which launched the same time last year.  Growth in young target groups has also been particularly encouraging, with viewing amongst the 12-24 years old demographic increasing between episode two and four by an incredible +166%!
