France follows sale in China at MIPTV. Format’s launch in Hungary was most watched programme of 2013 on TV2.
Keshet International, the global distribution arm of Keshet Media Group, has signed a new format deal in France for musical talent show Master Class.
Keshet International has licensed the format to independent production company Newen Group.
The latest deal for France follows a successful second season in Israel for the Keshet Broadcasting/Tedy Productions format where it was the highest performing talent show on Keshet’s Channel 2, outperforming the local version of THE VOICE Season One, which aired in late 2011, was a phenomenal success in Israel and the 2nd highest rated show in the country that year.
Local versions are also planned for China (via Shixi Media) following a deal at MIPTV.
In Hungary, local version titled Az Ének Iskolája (School of Music), premiered on TV2 on Saturday as the most watched programme for the channel this year, scoring 32.3% market share in its 18-49 target group and reaching a total of 2.6m people. It outperformed the channel’s time slot by 250%
Master Class (12×60’) is a musical talent show where children sing all-time classics with only positive reviews and no eliminations.
The best child vocalists in the country are taught by four teachers – leading artists in the music industry – who train them to make the most of their potential. The programme is set at the music school and its auditorium, where weekly performances take place.
