Keshet International, has sold its successful dating format Girlfri3nds to ProSiebenSat.1 Media. The German media company will produce the show which will broadcast in Germany, Austria, Alto Adige, Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Luxembourg. The format adaptation will launch during 2013 and will be co-produced by Redseven Entertainment and Keshet Broadcasting.
This deal follows the success of the UK adaptation of the same format, which premiered in September 2012 on ITV2.
The original Israeli version of the unscripted format which premiered in prime time on Keshet Channel 2 in October 2011 achieved an average 40.2 share, 15% above the time slot average. The season finale scored a season high viewing record with a 45.3 share and 36.8 rating (HH), placing the episode as the highest rated non-live reality show in Israel since the Telegal ratings system was established in 1999.
Girlfri3nds spotlights three single women as they go on a nationwide search for love together. Starting with hundreds of auditions for potential mates from all ends of the country, the women must narrow down potential suitors until they find their soul mates. Though each woman is looking for something different, they all have the common goal of attaining true love, and they have each other for support in their journeys to find it.
