TV2 latest to acquire Keshet’s hit talent show
Keshet International, the global distribution and production arm of Keshet Media Group, has closed another major deal for its hit talent show RISING STAR, in Hungary.
14 episodes of Keshet’s hit talent format will appear on Hungarian commercial television channel TV2, in fall 2014.
The latest deal adds to recently announced local adaptations in the US (ABC), France (M6 Group), Russia (Rossiya 1), Germany (RTL), Italy (Toro) and Scandinavia (Nordisk).
RISING STAR is a trailblazing interactive talent format that hails a new era in home entertainment. Its launch marks the first real-time voting by viewers via an innovative free app ‘TV app to you’ that is fully integrated into the show.
If the performer secures 70% of the viewers and the judges votes, the screen rises in the studio and the new star is revealed. From the very first minute of the very first episode, viewers will continue to play an integral role in every decision made on the show throughout the entire season.
RISING STAR produced by Tedy Productions for Keshet Broadcasting, marked a record-breaking debut on Keshet’s Channel 2 last month, breaking records with 49.4% share, with almost half of all TV audiences tuning in to the show.
Over 9 million votes have been tallied through the app, which has been downloaded more than 1.5 million times. RISING STAR has far outperformed all second screen data ever recorded in Israel, with a participation rate 10 times higher than previous shows, and is maintaining high ratings and conversion rates (viewers to second screen participation) of over 30%.
