Local press praised the series’ originality and off-beat humour:

TVDAGS (Sweden’s leading TV blog)
A man is found murdered, hanging from a tree, a Biblepinned to his chest with a knife. ‘Awful’, says the priest to the police, ‘though I’m glad to hear that people have taken interest in the Bible.’ That says most of what you need to know about this new SV-produced crime comedy: both Swedish and English are spoken, it is gory, and the humor is clear-cut, simple and disarming.”

“…the series is equal parts shameless flirting with, and parodying, the Nordic Noir hype.”

“Lisa Henni is a gem in the Saga-from-The Bridge-parodying lead role.”

EXPRESSEN (Leading Swedish National Newspaper)
“Fallet has a consistent tone which pays off- you easily fall into its rhythm, while the murder mystery always lingers in the background. That Fallet also plays with the Nordic Noir genre means that many narrative tricks let us think that something is going one way, only for it to end up in another… Godley’s performance as Tom Brown provides an obsequious character so transparently bland that he always draws the eye.”

AFTONBLADET (LeadingSwedish National Newspaper)
“With Fallet, SVT finds the humor in the beloved Nordic Noir genre, one where they themselves have had great success, and a genre that, at this point, is fertile ground for trite/worn tropes to poke fun at.”
“Their own series Bron (The Bridge), seems to be the greatest source of inspiration, but other Scandinavia crime series also get roasted, as do British detective shows such as Midsomer Murders (and in a brief sequence, so does Downton Abbey).”

Thriling and funny in equal measure, crime dramedy Fallet (The Case ) breaks new ground in the continuing success story of Nordic Noir as two unlikely detectives, Sophie Borg (Lisa Henni, Easy Money ), a Swedish police officer with misplaced high self-esteem, and cowardly British colleague Tom Brown (Adam Godley, Breaking Bad, Suits ), team up to solve a gruesome murder.

Produced in a unique combination of Swedish and English, Fallet is produced by FLX (Boy Machine, The 100-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared ) for SVT Sweden and directed by Simen Alsvik (Lillyhammer ).
