Keshet International Asia (KIA) was established in October 2015, building on the footprint Keshet International (KI) had already established in the region selling to a wide range of Asian producers and broadcasters and building local partnerships.
KIA has bolstered the company’s aim to be further integrated into the vibrant and burgeoning Asian marketplace. With regional headquarters in Hong Kong and a ferocious drive to gain footholds in all the Asian markets – large and small – it is going from expanding rapidly with Head of Asia Gary Pudney at the helm supported by local sales managers Cherry Lu (Beijing) and Kelvin Ko (Hong Kong), in consultation with Executive Advisor to the region Kelly Wright (Tel Aviv).
Keshet Asia distributes content to and acquires content from the Asian region – KI was the second international company ever to export Chinese IP – as well as identifying strategic production partners for its rich content portfolio. In a matter of months after opening, the team has closed deals for Prisoners of War in India (Star TV), Trade Up in China (CCTV), Master Class in Vietnam and Rising Star in Cambodia among others. These local adaptations of Keshet formats join others such as Master Class China, Spy Korea, Rising Star Indonesia and Boom! Cambodia which have been airing in the region for several years.
